Kuselan Song Release

Kuselan audio release will be held on June 30 at a five star hotel and the chief guest will be none other than A R Rehman. The songs are composed by this nephew G.V.Prakash. The intro songs were picturized on Rajini`s fans and it is a tribute to the 75 years of tamil cinema. Another song of seven minute is alloted to Daler Mehndi. Pasupathy and meena only get two songs. Sonia decides to go for Nuclear Deal

Congress President Sonia Gandhi has finally decided to go for the nuclear deal and has told the partymen to prepare for the polls now itself. India wins against Bangladesh

India won the match against Bangladesh by seven wickets at karachi in the super league stage of the Asia Cup 2008 on Saturday. Sam Manekshaw who is India`s second Field Marshal who was instrumental in the creation of Bangladesh when he routed the then pakistani army in just 14 days flat, died at Wellington at the Army hospital in Ooty in Tamil Nadu. He was 94. He is fondly called Sam Bahadur and his death was deeply mourned by all leaders and politicians.

Spain managed to enter the finals of Euro 2008. The previous time they entered the finals was way back in 1984 when they were defeated by the French. Asia cup enter into the second rounds

With India and Srilanka going into the second round unbeaten we can expect a tought battle in this round. India completely dominated their two games against pakistan and hongkong. While hongkong were helpless, Pakistan were done in by some excellent batting by the indians. Indians were also aided by the injury to Umar gul who could have done some damage had he bowled his quota of overs. Pakistan started rather slowly and batted well in the middle overs to post a competitive 299. But Sehwag and Raina had other plans and ensured India finally won the match.

A R Rehman for Marmayogi

In a way it is the coming together(again) of the two mastroes in their respective fields. Yes, A R Rehman will compose music for the 100 crore magnum opus of Kamal 'Marmayogi' which is rumoured to be produced by Warnes Bros. Inc. Kamal who has grown a beard for the movie will also direct this venture. It is a period film set in the sixth century. In fact Kamal also showed some Twelfth century scenes in dasavatharam. This title was the title of an MGR film in the late 70s.

Kamal all the way in Dasavatharam

Hi all, We knew the story, screenplay and dialogue for the film were by Kamal. But, it should be no surprise to you all when I say Kamal was also directing the film as was evident from the film. Yes, the film lacked the usual masala style of K.S.Ravikumar. He has lent his name just to be counted as directing the film. According to one of my friends who acted in the film Dasavatharam though in a small role told me it was Kamal who calling the shots and cuts during the shooting of the film. Ravikumar was roped in by Kamal just to perform the organisational work in the film. So naturally he should have been the assistant director of the film!! It was well known fact that Kamal did same with Sundar C with Anbe Sivam.


One gets awestruck when watching the film. Kamal simply rocks in all the ten characters and the voice modulation for all the characters were precise and amazing. Hats off to Kamal for all his efforts and let us wish him all best for his next film which he himself will direct!!

Roger Federer as usual won his second round match against Sodinger 6-4,6-3,7-6. Sodinger who was no match for Federer in the first two sets, gave a tough fight to him in the third set which he almost won but Federer for the genius he is fought admirably to clinch the third set and the game.


In another second round game, Former world number one Marat Safin won against third seeded Djokovic in one of the first upsets of Wimbeldon 2008. Safin who had a form slump of late provided a tough fight to the opponent. Djokovic looked out of sorts in this game.

N-Deal Deadlock still remains

With UPA allies not in favour of an early elections and the left parties still adamant on their nuclear deal stand, it remains to be seen whether any amicable solution will be reached between the Congress and the left. According to sources, Manmohan Singh is very keen to finish the N-Deal with the U S that would go a long way in satisfying India`s energy requirements. This albeit was rejected by some of the scientists while others are in its favour. In yesterday`s UPA-left meet, as usual no decision was reached and the left parties have not relented. They have seeked a written assurance from the prime minister and Sonia Gandhi that they would not pursue the deal. Congress in the meanwhile is looking to the Samajwadi Party to support it in case the left withdraws support in the event of the deal going through. These are troubled times for the Government as it is already tackling with inflation issue coupled with the headache due to the N-Deal.

Reliance MTN Deal to be finished by the next month

The much hyped deal between ADAG group headed by Anil Ambani and MTN based in south africa is expected to be completed by next month, mtn sources told. MTN previously failed to strike a deal with the Bharti group which by then would have created the sixth largest telecom company. After the failure of these talks, Anil has almost managed to convince the MTN shareholders of the benefits arising out of the synergy. As per the deal, Anil Ambani will swapping his shares in Reliance communications for MTN shares, which means post the deal, Anil will be holding a one-third holding in Reliance communications and a 34% holding in MTN. The deal however faced some trouble as Mukesh Ambani raised doubts over the rights of first refusal which according to him belongs to RIL in accordance with the agreements signed between the two brothers when they decided the split. This was however rejected by Anil and he is believed to go to court challenging Mukesh`s claim. Mukesh even went to the extent of informing MTN about his rights and almost stopped the deal. But MTN seem to have full confidence in Anil and further negotiations are on!!

IPL Franchisees for removing players salary cap

Quite a few IPL franchisees have voiced their concerns over the player`s cap that stops them from buying more players. The player`s cap becomes a hindrance especially when they need to trade players next year and they dont have the money as they have already spent upto the limit in this years IPL event itself. Reportedly players like Kevin Peterson and Andrew Flintoff are on talking terms with franchisees like Royal Challengers and Mumbai Indians for the next season of the IPL. The governing council of the IPL are mum about the issue as raising the player`s cap would give an unfair advantage to the poorer franchisees like Knight Riders and Super Kings. One must wait and watch to see how things pan out!!

Rumours are abuzz that Rajini is about to do another film with P Vasu after kuselan. The film will mostly be launched after finishing Robot with shankar. After Baba debacle, Rajini has stuck with Vasu and Shankar. vasu has till now directed Rajini in four films which are Mannan, Uzhaipali,Chandramuki and Kuselan. Meanwhile, Kuselan shoot is over and the recording is to started soon. The audio launch will be by the end of july most probably.

Sarkar Raj - Movie Review

Sarkar Raj, Ram Gopal Verma's sequel to his godfather inspired Sarkar was aggresively promoted as the film brings the Bachchans- father , son and bahu together. The last film has Subash 'Sarkar' Nagre ( Bachchan Sr.) and son shankar(Bachchan Jr.) of the criminal/politician family battle a whole lot of people bent on destroying fiefdom. This film has Nagres battle a new set of villains, it's just that the stakes are higher.

This time coming in to the picture is Anita of Shepard corporation, with a proposal to set up a multi-billion power project in Maharashtra. It means dislocating 40,000 people, which Sarkar does not want to allow, but Shankar thinks the short term loss to these people would mean long term gain for the state. Suddenly, this glum, frowning fellow who speaks through his teeth is a visionary, who is interested only in progress and not in profit.
Opposing Shankar's power project is Somji(Rajesh Sringarpure), the grandson of sarkar's wily mentor Raosaheb(dilip Prabhawalkar.)

Varma simplu reduces everything to gangsterish violence, which is what he does best, why he even pretends to build up and enron-like scenario when it doesn't really matter in the larger picture. odd lighting obscures the faces. The music with its "Govinda Govinda" refrain, and "sam dam dand bhed" is loud and the songs are like those in Balaji soap operas. The performance of AB sr is commendable while the performances of Ab jr. and Aishwarya Rai are passable. Overall the film is just a tribute to the bachchans.

MS Dhoni invited for Euro 2008

Ms Dhoni on Monday received an invite from one of the main sponsors of Euro 2008 to be a guest for one of the matches. In fact, it is more than just an invitation to watch a match. If everything falls into place, he will actually be giving away the Man of the Match award on June 15 for the Portugal-Switzerland game. Just imagine: if Cristiano Ronaldo happens to be the best player in that match, we will see Dhoni and Ronaldo on the same stage. The invitation, from Carlsberg, says: "I would like to inform you that it would be the first time in the history of the Euros that someone from India has been requested to grace the occasion. It will be a proud moment for India as the international press would be there to cover the event." Euro 2008, the world’s second biggest football tournament, is being played in Switzerland and Austria and will start on June 7. The Portugal-Switzerland match is in Basel on June 15. As far as Dhoni is concerned, there is only one catch though: he will be playing a tri-series in Bangladesh just around that time. If India go all the way, the Indian skipper won't be able to leave Dhaka before June 14, the day of the final.

Some groups trying to stop the release of Dasavathaaram are moving the supreme court after losing their case in the chennai high court. Their appeal will be heard today. Will this move mean further headache to Oscar films remains to be seen!! Oscar films Ravichandran has applied for a caveat in the high court to halt any further cases against the movie. With the bookings opening tomorro, there is still a question mark over the films release as per schedule!! watch out this space for more folks!!

Vijay`s VIL - SOLDIER Remake??

News is circulating Vijay`s next Vil is going to a remake of the Hindi Superhit film 'SOLDIER' which starred Bobby deol in the lead. But neither Prabu Deva nor Vijay could be contacted for comments. The hit pair of Vijay and Prabhu Deva are back again this time for Ayngaran Karuna`s Vil after the super hit film Pokkiri. The film also brings together Nayantara and Vijay for the first time as lead pair. The duo had shared screen earlier for the song 'Kodambakkam Area' from the superhit Sivakasi. The photo session for the film was shot at AVM yesterday. The shooting for the film commences from June 6th 2008 at Pazhani. The first schedule will last for a month.

The music for the film is by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Ravivaraman.

Dhoni for EURO 2008

Dhoni has been invited to watch a EURO 2008 match on june 14th. It is very well known that Dhoni who is an avid fan and follower of football. If all goes according to the plans Dhoni can get to meet his favourite footballer Chrisitano Ronaldo and he was also asked to give the Man of the Match award. But the only factor that may mar his soccer sojourn is that the ODI tri series in Bangladesh will end only june 15th when the finals will take place and most probably India will reach the finals of the series.

Recently, Cognizant Technology Solutions has hired 278 students from SSN ENGINEERING COLLEGE. Later, Infosys took 98 students from the same college. Cognizant has also hired students in large number from SVCE. Its also worth mentioning that Wipro and TCS are going slow in hiring students. This year SSN does not have TCS, Wipro and HCL visiting its campus. So students dont worry and placements are here to stay
