Was Sri Lanka - India staged??

Serious doubts have been raised by commentator Ramiz Raja over the manner Sri Lanka went about their match against the Indians in their last super league match in the Asia Cup. The sri lankan jayawardene said they had rest vaas as he has been nursing an injury and he accepted his team was complacent against the Indians. Even jayasuriya was seen bored in the match. But anyhow india won the match and may pose a big threat to the lankans in the final and sri lanka`s mistakes may prove costly.

Lahore Court Removes Ban on Shoaib

Fiery Pakistani fast bowler today got a major reprieve after a Lahore court removed the ban on the fast bowler and reduced the fine amount to Rs. 7 millions. The consequence of this judgement is that Shoaib is fit and eligible for selection to the Pakistan national team. According to sources, the fast bowler has got some serious backing of some senior politicians and this has helped him in getting out of the ban. Whether Akhtar will be selected for the team is still a very big question mark more so because the coach is not too keen to get him on board due to his troubled relations with the team members. But no doubt Shoaib is a very good bowler and if selected he can surely bolster the almost dead Pakistani bowling attack.

Pakistan Cricket in doldrums again!!

Pakistan`s shock exit from the Asia cup has left the PCB officials fuming as to what can they do to get their team right. The team is not united as reports said, the seniors like younis khan, shahid afridi and mohammed yousuf have formed a group and are against the young captain Shoaib Malik. The Pakistani coack Geoff Lawson was so frustrated after the loss against Sri Lanka that he lashed out at the reporters at the press conference and later apologized. It is high time the Pakistan Cricket Board officials do some serious thinking to get Pakistan back to shape again.

India wins against Bangladesh

India won the match against Bangladesh by seven wickets at karachi in the super league stage of the Asia Cup 2008 on Saturday. Raina helped by two dropped catches scored a blistering hundred to help the indians win the match with utmost ease. India during the Bangladeshi innings were sloppy on the field dropping as many as three catches. The only good thing was Ojha`s bowling.
